I’m Rick Cofer, an attorney, advocate film-lover, and dog dad. I’m a Texas native, and I’ve lived and worked in Austin and the Texas Hill Country for over twenty years. After running my own practice for a few years, I partnered with Jeffrey Connelly in 2020 to start Cofer & Connelly, PLLC. At Cofer & Connelly, we are committed to achieving excellence for each and every one of our clients. While most of my work involves representing adults facing serious charges, my practice also focuses on juvenile cases and mental health matters.

I’m active in the Austin community, serving on the board of directors of the KIND Clinic and Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO). I previously served as chair of the City of Austin Zero Waste Commission, vice-chair of the City of Austin Parks & Recreation Board, and president of the Pease Park Conservancy Board of Directors. My roots run deep in Austin, and I’m honored to contribute to our community.

I am a proud dog dad to the most amazing Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Lady Bird. Lady Bird nearly always has a smile on her face and prides herself on bringing joy to everyone she meets, as well as being able to take down a Puppuccino faster than you can say “Lady Bird!”
